So, Hate Plus is on sale for the first time! Both Analogue and the Hateful Days pair are 50% off right now, and if you just want Hate Plus, it’s 33% off. (It’ll be the same price at Christmas, so this is the cheapest they’ll be for a while.)
So if for some reason you’ve managed to completely miss out on the story of the Mugunghwa, you can now get the whole thing together! The Hateful Days pair is $20 on Steam, and includes both Analogue and Hate Plus, as well as the soundtracks to both.
So, Analogue: A Hate Story and its sequel, Hate Plus are some pretty interesting and immersive games. They’re virtual novels that really make super efficient use of a purposely limited interface, allow you to delve into a really intricate and frightening backstory full of mystery, depravity and corruption, and interact with a few real fun characters with some unique views and throughout it. Most of the game is reading through logs. Loooots of reading, yeah, but some entries can be really vicious. Even the more passive ones are fun thanks to your AI partner reading over your shoulder and providing their own reactions and input.
That said, despite the best efforts of the convention’s organizers to make me feel unwelcome, I’m begrudgingly excited to announce that I’m going to be part of the Indie MEGABOOTH this year! I’m going to be in the company of a lot of really awesome games, and is run by some absolutely wonderful, super-welcoming people. I will be showing off Hate Plus there, alongside basically some of my favourite developers ever.
I’ll also be selling some low-key goodies, so if you wanted one of the remaining copies of the Analogue Deluxe Edition or Hate Plus pins, I will have those. If you are there, please come by and say hi! It will make me feel better about all the other terrible shit, believe me! ♡
